Biography
Jamaican producer and singer, born Rainford Perry, whose Black Ark studio sessions in the 1970s invented much of dub's vocabulary of echo, space and subtraction. With *The Upsetters* he produced landmarks such as 'Super Ape' and *The Congos*' 'Heart of the Congos', worked with *Bob Marley* at the dawn of his career, and kept performing and recording, in his own unmistakable style, until his death in Lucea in 2021.
