Biography
Love was an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965, led by singer and songwriter Arthur Lee. One of the first racially diverse American rock bands, they became #Elektra Records#' first rock signing and released their debut album, 'Love', in 1966. 'Da Capo' followed with the single '7 and 7 Is', a US top 40 hit. Their third album, 'Forever Changes' (1967), recorded by Lee, Bryan MacLean, Johnny Echols, Ken Forssi and Michael Stuart-Ware, is now regarded as a landmark of psychedelic rock and was added to the National Recording Registry in 2011. Lee dismissed the other members in 1968 and recorded further Love albums with new musicians. He died in 2006, and Echols has since toured the music as Love Revisited.
