Owen
- Type: Musician
- Country: United States
- Born: 2001 in Chicago, Illinois, United States
Biography
The solo project of Chicago's Mike Kinsella, drummer of *Cap'n Jazz* and frontman of *American Football*. Begun in 2001, Owen trades his bands' math-rock complexity for fingerpicked acoustic songs, home-recorded for #Polyvinyl Records# across albums including 'No Good for No One Now' (2002), 'At Home with Owen' (2006) and 'The Avalanche' (2020). The lyrics are diaristic and self-lacerating, the guitar playing quietly virtuosic — a cornerstone catalogue of American indie folk.
