Biography
Quasimoto is the mischievous, animated alter ego of producer and rapper *Madlib*. Known as Lord Quas, the character is defined by a helium-high, pitched-up vocal style that contrasts with *Madlib*'s own deeper voice. The project debuted on #Stones Throw Records# with the critically acclaimed album 'The Unseen' in 2000, followed by 'The Further Adventures of Lord Quas' in 2005. Quasimoto's music is a surreal blend of abstract lyricism, cartoonish humor, and dense, jazz- and soul-soaked sample-based production. The character, often depicted as a yellow, aardvark-like creature holding a brick, remains one of underground hip-hop's most iconic and enigmatic figures.
