Slayer

Slayer was an American thrash metal band formed in 1981, becoming one of the genre's definitive acts and a member of the "Big Four" alongside *Metallica*, *Megadeth*, and *Anthrax*. Known for their blistering speed, aggressive musicality, and controversial lyrics, the band established their legacy with their 1983 debut 'Show No Mercy' on #Metal Blade Records#. Their landmark 1986 album 'Reign in Blood', produced by *Rick Rubin* for #Def Jam Recordings#, is considered a masterpiece of the genre. After a nearly four-decade career that included multiple gold albums and Grammy awards, the band concluded with a farewell tour in 2019.
