Biography
Sweet are a British glam rock band formed in London in 1968. The classic line-up of singer Brian Connolly, bassist Steve Priest, guitarist Andy Scott and drummer Mick Tucker scored thirteen British Top 20 hits in the 1970s, including 'Block Buster!', 'The Ballroom Blitz' and 'Fox on the Run', first under songwriters *Nicky Chinn* and *Mike Chapman* and then with their own harder rock sound. Connolly left in 1979 and the original band ended in 1982; Scott still leads a version of Sweet, which released 'Full Circle' in 2024.
