Biography
The Damned are an English punk and gothic rock band formed in London in 1976 by Dave Vanian, Brian James, Captain Sensible and Rat Scabies. The first UK punk band to release a single and an album, they began with the fast punk of 'Damned Damned Damned' (1977) and broadened into gothic rock on records including 'The Black Album' and 'Phantasmagoria'. Vanian and Sensible remain at the core of the band, which returned Scabies to the drum stool in 2023.
