Xasthur is the project of American musician Scott Conner, known as Malefic, founded in Alhambra, California, in 1995. Working almost entirely alone during its black metal years, Conner released eight albums of depressive black metal between 'Nocturnal Poisoning' (2002) and 'Portal of Sorrow' (2010). He revived Xasthur in 2015 as an acoustic neofolk project, releasing 'Subject to Change' in 2016.
