Biography
American experimental pop group formed in Brooklyn in 2002 by David Longstreth, its constant center. Dirty Projectors moved from lo-fi songcraft through the harmonic intricacy of 'Bitte Orca' and 'Swing Lo Magellan' to the rebuilt lineup behind 'Lamp Lit Prose' and the orchestral 'Song of the Earth'. Longstreth's harmonically restless writing and the group's rotating harmonies define the sound throughout.
