Biography
English guitarist, born in Wallington, Surrey, who succeeded *Eric Clapton* in *The Yardbirds* before leading *The Jeff Beck Group* through 'Truth' (1968) and 'Beck-Ola' (1969) on #Epic Records#. Jeff Beck's instrumental albums 'Blow by Blow' (1975) and 'Wired' (1976) defined jazz-rock guitar, and his singing, vibrato-led tone made him the archetypal guitarist's guitarist. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, he died in 2023.
