Jimmy Cobb

Jimmy Cobb

A master of understated swing and impeccable taste, Jimmy Cobb is best known for his work as the drummer on Miles Davis's 'Kind of Blue,' the best-selling jazz album of all time. His subtle, crisp, and beautifully swinging ride cymbal work on that album is iconic. He was the last surviving member of Davis's First Great Sextet, and his tasteful, supportive drumming was also a key feature on other classics like 'Sketches of Spain' and John Coltrane's 'Giant Steps.'
