Biography
Symphonic metal band from Kitee, Finland, formed in 1996 by Tuomas Holopainen, Emppu Vuorinen and Tarja Turunen. Nightwish rose from Finnish success with 'Angels Fall First' to worldwide fame through 'Oceanborn', 'Wishmaster', 'Century Child' and the million-selling 'Once'. Despite singer changes from Turunen through Anette Olzon to Floor Jansen, the band's orchestral, keyboard-led metal has kept them among Finland's best-selling and most decorated musical acts.
