Biography
The Walkabouts were a Seattle rock band formed in 1984 by Chris Eckman and Carla Torgerson, who sang and wrote most of its songs. With Michael Wells, Glenn Slater and, from the early 1990s, drummer Terri Moeller, the band mixed folk, country and experimental rock over 13 studio albums, from 'See Beautiful Rattlesnake Gardens' in 1988 to 'Travels in the Dustland' in 2011. Never a commercial success at home, they found a loyal audience in Europe, where they toured heavily and charted in Greece and Norway, before disbanding in 2015.
