Biography
Sheffield鈥檚 Arctic Monkeys are one of the most successful and critically acclaimed British bands of the 21st century. Emerging during the mid-2000s indie rock explosion, they gained fame through internet-driven grassroots support before releasing the fastest-selling debut in UK history, "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not". Led by the sharp, observational lyricism of Alex Turner, the band has undergone a dramatic sonic evolution鈥攎oving from high-octane garage rock and post-punk revival to desert-rock textures on "Humbug", sleek R&B-infused rock on "AM", and cinematic lounge-pop on "The Car". Their ability to reinvent their identity while maintaining a massive global following has solidified their status as modern rock icons.
