Biography
Nine Inch *Nails* is the industrial rock project formed by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio. Reznor remained the sole official member until the addition of *Atticus Ross* in 2016. The band brought industrial music to a mass audience by fusing abrasive electronic textures with alternative rock structures, exemplified on their debut 'Pretty Hate Machine'. Reznor鈥檚 method treats the studio as an instrument, building densely layered soundscapes that explore themes of alienation and self-decay. This integration of machine-like precision with visceral human emotion defined a distinct sonic vocabulary that proved widely influential, expanding the boundaries of rock music and production with landmark albums like 'The Downward Spiral' released via Nothing and #Interscope#.
