Porcupine Tree

Porcupine Tree

Porcupine Tree is an English rock band formed by Steven Wilson in 1987. Initially a solo studio project, it expanded into a full band in 1993. The group's sound evolved significantly over three decades, beginning with psychedelic and space rock on early albums like 'The Sky Moves Sideways' before shifting to more structured, song-oriented alternative rock with 'Stupid Dream'. In the 2000s, after signing to major label #Lava#, their sound embraced progressive metal, earning widespread acclaim for albums such as 'In Absentia' and 'Fear of a Blank Planet'. After a decade-long hiatus, the core trio of Wilson, Richard Barbieri, and Gavin Harrison returned with the album 'Closure/Continuation' in 2022.
