Pavement

An American indie rock band formed in Stockton, California, Pavement originated in 1989 as the studio project of Stephen Malkmus and Scott Kannberg. The group defined a significant strain of the 1990s underground by merging a lo-fi production aesthetic with fractured song structures, dissonant feedback, and intricate, cryptic lyricism.
