Biography
Songs: Ohia was the first recording project of Jason Molina, the Ohio singer-songwriter who remained its sole constant member from 1996 to 2003. Working with a rotating cast of collaborators, Molina released a run of records on #Secretly Canadian# that moved between lo-fi folk, indie rock and alt-country, among them 'Impala' (1998), 'The Lioness' (2000) and the sparse, gospel-tinged 'Didn't It Rain' (2002). In 2003 he released 'Magnolia Electric Co.', recorded with *Steve Albini*, then retired the Songs: Ohia name and continued with a stable band under the Magnolia Electric Co. name.
