Biography
The Stranglers is an English band formed in Guildford in 1974, emerging from pub rock into punk and new wave with a keyboard led sound built on Jean-Jacques Burnel's bass and Dave Greenfield's organ. The classic lineup with Hugh Cornwell and Jet Black made 'Rattus Norvegicus', 'No More Heroes' and 'Golden Brown'. Burnel remains the last founding member, fronting the current band with Baz Warne since 2006, and the group released its 18th studio album, 'Dark Matters', in 2021.
