Animal Collective is an American experimental pop band renowned for its eclectic and unpredictable sound, which has significantly shaped independent music since the early 2000s. The group, consisting of *Avey Tare* (*David Portner*), *Panda Bear* (*Noah Lennox*), *Deakin* (*Josh Dibb*), and *Geologist* (*Brian Weitz*), explores a vast sonic territory, blending psychedelia, freak folk, noise, and electronic music. Characterized by dense vocal harmonies, unconventional song structures, and a heavy use of samples and effects, their work ranges from the acoustic intimacy of "Sung Tongs" to the ecstatic electronic textures of their landmark album, "Merriweather Post Pavilion".
