Biography
New Orleans sludge metal pioneers formed in 1990, initially as The Slugs, and led ever since by singer and rhythm guitarist Kirk Windstein, the band's sole constant member. Crowbar's slow, downtuned fusion of doom metal and hardcore punk, heard across twelve studio albums from 'Obedience thru Suffering' (1991) to 'Zero and Below' (2022), defined the New Orleans heavy sound alongside *Eyehategod* and *Down*. The rhythm section and lead guitar chairs have turned over constantly around Windstein.
