Magma

Magma

Magma is a French group formed in Paris in 1969 by drummer and composer Christian Vander. [1] The band originated the musical style known as "Zeuhl," a genre fusing progressive rock, jazz fusion, and 20th-century classical and operatic structures. [3, 9] Their work is defined by epic mythological narratives, sung almost entirely in Kobaïan, a constructed language developed by Vander. [1, 13] Characterized by martial rhythms, massive choral arrangements, and hypnotic bass, Magma's sonic architecture established a unique and influential movement that has shaped a lineage of bands worldwide.
