Biography
Stage name of Carsten Nicolai, German electronic musician and visual artist from Chemnitz and co-founder of the #Raster-Noton# label. His Alva Noto records build rhythmic worlds from clicks, glitches and pure sine tones, in solo series such as 'Xerrox' and 'Uni' and in celebrated collaborations with *Ryuichi Sakamoto*. Nicolai's work moves between club, gallery and concert hall without loosening its minimalist discipline.
