Biography

Green Day is an American rock band that catapulted punk into the mainstream. Formed in California's East Bay scene, the trio of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool broke through with their 1994 major-label debut 'Dookie' on #Reprise Records#. This album, along with its massive singles 'Basket Case' and 'When I Come Around', made them global stars. A decade later, they redefined their career with the ambitious rock opera 'American Idiot', a politically charged album that resonated with a new generation and cemented their status as one of the most significant bands of their era, leading to their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
