Biography

Sparks is an American pop and rock duo from Los Angeles formed by brothers Ron Mael, on keyboards, and Russell Mael, on vocals. They began in 1968 as Halfnelson before adopting the name Sparks, and first found success in Britain with 'Kimono My House' in 1974 and its hit single 'This Town Ain't Big Enough for Both of Us'. Working with producer *Giorgio Moroder*, they reinvented themselves as an electronic duo on 'No. 1 in Heaven' in 1979. Their catalogue spans more than twenty-five studio albums, including 'Lil' Beethoven' in 2002, and Edgar Wright's 2021 documentary 'The Sparks Brothers' introduced them to a new audience.
